The begining of summer

It has been a rather strange weather, not something we are used to have this time of year. Incredible heat during the day, frightening storms in the evening.

I don`t think I can remember a time when dressing up was such a diffcult task.

Oh decisions, decisions, decisions!

I used to think that dressing up is fun and you can do it anytime anywhere. You are never too upset or too tired to try a new pair of shoes. But now having to reach every morning the other part of the town, where I swear if you`d go 5 m further, you would fall out of the face of the earth, has made me change drastically my morning ritual.

If I used have about 30 minutes in the morning to think of what I will be wearing to work that day, now my brain can only resonate to T-shirts and jeans, and really I am kinda over it. So instead of scrambling in the morning, every Morning, I started putting together some outfits, based on what I have in my closet, and try to stick to those as often as I can. Who know maybe you find a little bit of inspiration.

This week`s topic...how to dress through bipolar weather.

It is no secret I am a big fan of the Jumpsuit. It`s cool it`s versatile it`s easy to put an outfit around it.

When in doubt wear a dress... to paraphrase an old saying.

Pants can never let you down...Well maybe only after you ate a lot and they don`t fit and you start crying.

What are your remedies for the mroning when you don`t feel like dressing up?
Bisous,
Adina

Start to a Fashionable week!

I think I will keep this column for the rest of the year!

We all need a little bit of something to make us feel glamorous. You don`t need to spend a lot of money, all you need is some inspiration and resourcefulness.

I dare to dream and hope that at one point you will find my regular proposals a source of inspiration which will help you find an answer to the dreadfull questions: What am I wearing today?

The Straw Hat or How To Survive The Heat Wave With Style

The straw hat.

I personally disregarded the straw hat for so many years, and just wore it, from time to time at the beach, more to stop my mother`s voice in my head, pleading to stay out of the sun, or I will get sun stroked or even worse wrinkles. . But as I grew older, I started to appreciate it more for its utility and "fabulousity".

Now that an obnoxious  heat wave has struck us, we all try to adapt as fast as we can, and survive this horrible period. You would say since this happens almost every year, we must have learned our lesson and we surely prepare for it. But no, we are still taken by surprise and curse the global warming every time we got the chance. Oh, but enough about this and let's talk hats! Straw hats! Unnecessary to mention how much I love them and how much comfort they bring me during this time. They are incredible versatile, and y`all know how much I love those items that can go with virtually anything and are ready to get you out of the hole, whenever the situation requires.

Below I created some inspirational outfits just to demonstrate how wonderful they look no matter the time or place.

So what do you do to keep yourself cool during the summer?

Random Inspiration

Monday was my first day at my new job, and unfortunately I was way too tired to write something new for my blog. But I promise this weekend I will catch up!

Starting this new job reminded me how much fun dressing for your workplace can be, especially when you work in a creative environment. I can't tell how cute and well dressed some of my colleagues are!

Here are some of what I think of wearing `til the end of the week.  I don`t have the exact items in my closet, but I was really careful to select something that looks really similar to what  I actually own in my closet.

This is going to be a short short post, but I hope you`ll enjoy it!

Sometimes in our daily desire to look as fashionable and glamorous as we can, we sometimes forget about comfort and manage to put ourselves in such painful situations. So this week let's try and replace the "vs" in comfort vs fashion in  comfort "and" fashion. Will you accept the challenge?

Overlooked Accessories: The Wallet

Usually, magazines like to write about those in-your-face accessories, and seldom do they discuss, or give ideas on those accessories that stay hidden, the things which functionality sometimes may overshadow the looks.

Dress for success or how to dress for your job interview

Picking an outfit for a job interview might be more difficult than one may expect.
After going through this experience, and noticing that some people around me faced the same difficulties- thought to be an easy task, but in the morning discovering your creativity is seriously lacking, and ending up wearing something which makes you feel really uncomfortable- I decided to do my research and make a post with some outfits.

The areas of my interest were: finance, marketing, PR, sales and new media/internet/e-commerce.

I am hoping that my post will inspire you and give you that confidence boost you need.

Finance:

Finance are pretty rigorous when it comes to fashion. There are rules, and these rules can't be broken, but they can be bent. When thinking of composing an outfit, try not to think of the blunt and boring black suit and white shirt, instead focus on colors such as dark blue, bavy, light, dark grey, even oxblood or burgundy. Instead of a suit, try a nice fitted dress, add a blazer, kitten heeled shoes, and a nice medium sized bag.

I believe in adding a hint of your personality to every outfit. Yes, the rules are strict when it comes to the finance world, but don't think somebody will kill you if you add a small brooch to your blazer, or a colorful light scarf, or for a hush hush moment play with your lingerie. Nobody will know the red sassy things you have underneath, but I bet they will make you feel a little bit naughty.

For my Romanian peeps, I found some nice dresses on www.raspberryfashion.ro, you should definitely check. I can't copy the images so I will just link you directly to them:

Through a woman's point of view

I was no girly girl growing up, I had no love for dresses and the color pink, but I adored red shoes, thanks to the "Wizard of Oz" film, and being a tomboy.

I can't say I drastically changed, I still love red shoes more than anything, I do own some cute dresses, which I never get to wear, and I still live in my jeans, cropped pants and leather shorts.

Since I can remember I was fascinated with the women-pants relationship, I adored Marlene Dietrich's manly, and yet so sexy style, and loved Diane Keaton's style in "Annie Hall". The menswear for women trend is nothing new, every season it finds its way on the designer's catwalks, year after year getting a makeover together with a re-branding, making us believe in its versatility and novelty. I happen to love this trend! I believe in the power it gives you, the raw sex-appeal, it's simplicity. Wear one man suit, and that's it! You don't need anything to make you stand out. No, its simplicity is enough!

Thursday Inspiration...The Snakeskin Print

Gucci SS 2013

Snakeskin print is not a novelty, it has ridden the trend wagon for some time now, and I believe it is here to stay. I've wanted to write about this print for some time now, Mischa, baby, this one is dedicated to you!

As all reptile inspired prints, the snakeskin print may seem difficult, and for some reason it bears the animal print stigma. Over wearing it is tabu- unless you are on the runway or you are known as an eccentric, but a hint here and there, may work wonders for your summer wardrobe. I would definitely put it on my closet must haves!

What I love most about this print is that it "screams" summer. Even though so many times overlooked, due to its stigma, this print is actually really versatile. If you are afraid of taking chances when it comes to your style, a python print clutch may be the small detail to a big difference you are looking for. Snakeskin printed jeans are perfect for going to school, if you are still in your teens, or to Sunday brunch with your girlfriends. The dresses are so inspiring and easy to accessories, I personally prefer gold jewelry for this print, but I've seen some superb outfits paired with silver ones.

The streets seem to love it, so why not add it as a crazy twist to your wardrobe.

Start to a fashionable week!

I didn't want another fashion Oscar related post, there are a lot of them really good documented, I recommend Thrill and frill one, and I just wanted to give you something different.

The weather outside is not  helping my creative side, so I decided to take on one of my late-night-why-am-not-I-sleeping idea and expand it. You all know how I believe in the power of fashion, so I decided to suggest for each week's day, one item to add to your outfit to fashion it up. Enjoy!!!

When Fashion Met Film

The fact that fashion has been an inspiration for the film industry is no secret, the fact that films have influenced fashion, again, is no secret. That's why I thought of writing a post about iconic items from classic films which have changed the fashion world forever.

This post is in preparation for something else I am writing at the moment, but it seems it will take me longer than originally expected. Hopefully it will be something you will enjoy as much as I do writing it.

First iconic film on my list is 'La dolce vita'(1960)

"La dolce vita" (1960) is a comedy-drama film written and directed by Federico Fellini. In a few words, this film consist of a series of stories following a week in the life of journalist living in Rome.

Fact: Fellini is the first one in the world do use the world PAPARAZZO(pl Paparazzi), more interesting, it is believed that Fellini cited as source of inspiration one of Cristobal Balenciaga's creation. Most famous scene: the Trevi fountain, who can forget that dress!

SS 2013 Ad Campaigns

I am beyond ecstatic when it comes to the Spring Summer fashion shows, I feel like, once the spring starts, people feel they are aloud to wear color.

Don't get me wrong I understand the need to wear dark colors on a rainy or snowy day, is like your soul is telling you "Do not dare make me wear yellow today, or I will "flock" you up!", but when the sun comes up, the birds start singing, the trees start blooming, flowers everywhere, you can finally say ""Flock" it I am wearing pink!"

I feel a little bit wrong to be talking about Spring (yeah that's how much I love it), when outside is colder than Antarctica, but it's almost March and I will indulge myself just this once to think about my favorite season.

As I was stranding away, I almost forgot to tell you about the things I will be posting today.

SS2013 ad campaigns are here!!!!! So let me show you some of my favorite!

What is your favorite season? Will you be wearing colorful ensembles this spring?

Bisous,
Adina
