Autumn is here...Thank you Cpt Obvious

Inspiration hit me today...so I decided to act on it and start preparing myself mentally and physically for the coldest period of the year.

I am a big fan of Autumn, I love it! Especially the weather during September and October, when it`s still warm outside, but you can feel the air has changed, it`s a bit colder and somehow a long sleeved T-shirt just won`t do it anymore. I don`t know about you but sometimes I feel like I have no idea on what should I wear during this time, so when I feel inspired I am more than happy to record any ideas, and maybe use them in the future.

The big autumn SKIRT, maybe a little bit thicker, a bit more conservative...or not...My perfect Autumn skirt outfit:

Dresses everywhere dresses, in Autumn you say, but of course!!!
And of course the PANTS, not your ordinary pants...Use the wide legged ones. They will def make a statement

How do you prepare for Autumn? Which outfit you like best?

Sales are here!!!!!!!!!! Oh, God give me the strength

As summer is here, or at least on the calender, because we still experiment cold and rainy weather, sales are here. So what do you do to keep you mind straight and keep yourself from buying the whole damn store, and keep focus on what you really want and need?

I am a bit of a "Scrooge" when it comes to shopping, I go cray-cray especially when having to spend my hard earned money, but occasionally  I let myself go wild and indulge in a couple of sales buys.

I am a closet freak, I absolutely love arranging my clothes every other weekend, trying to come up with outfits I could wear during the week days, but never do, color coordinate my T-shirts or dust my dresses.

As you read these lines you probably shake your head in disagreement, and say what do you mean you don`t like spending money?

But I do love-me some shopping, just that in time I learned how to prioritize my buys or how to be smart around sales. Below I will give you some of my tips and tricks, but beware it`s a bit of Spartan regime.

1. Always buy your size

Never, but never buy something hoping that you will lose some weight, or something to big thinking baggy is your thing and already a "classic". But no, you will never be able to anticipate how your body will look after losing some kilos, and a big blouse will always look big no matter the belts you wear or jackets you put over. So be sincere to yourself, even try going shopping alone at first, and buy your size.

2. Clean you closet

Always before sales, clean your closet. See what you`re missing, what you would need, what pieces from the last season crept in your dreams, and you could never afford them till now. Make a list, or why not use the Wish list feature you can find on almost any site, and come back during the sales and see what you can buy.

3. Buy what you need and then what you want

I am a woman, and sometimes I do crazy when it comes to the sales. But I always try not to let myself be influenced by the good offer, and think a little bit if I really need it and if it`s really me. If I can incorporate it in at least 3 outfits with clothes I`ve got at home, that piece will definitely have a place in my closet.

4. Invest , invest, invest

Sales are good for investing in good quality pieces which usually you couldn`t afford.  There was a saying I got from my grandmother when she was telling me all about her silk gowns, and leather shoes always matching with her purse, "Honey, I was too poor to dress cheap". And I understand, I rather invest in a good quality piece, when I can afford, than go all my life in plastic. So  take a chance and go buy those leather stilettos you wanted or that silk dress you have been dreaming of. Go, you deserve it!

5. Stay calm and keep your eyes open.

Be calm, but be aware for things around you. When it comes to this crazy period, you can never say you are fully prepared. So keep your mind open, and always ask yourself do I really need it, and if there is only one bit of doubt, don`t buy it.

What do you do to survive this period?

A little bit of colour never hurt anyone

I love color! Maybe I do not wear as often as I would like, but I will always appreciate a nice colorful outfit.
Lately I`ve seen people adding  delicate pop of colors in their everyday ensembles and moving more boldly towards more colorful items. A lot of this, I think, is happening thanks to all the wonderful style blogs which appeared, and through their choices have inspired people, women, to think that it`s OK to wear red, it`s OK to be creative and wear pink and red. Maybe I am wrong, but it`s just my opinion. What do you guys think? Have we started wearing more colors due to the influencers or just because we all got tired of the white and beige in our lives?

With this is my mind I`ve put together some outfits ideas for these days. Hope you`ll enjoy!

The begining of summer

It has been a rather strange weather, not something we are used to have this time of year. Incredible heat during the day, frightening storms in the evening.

I don`t think I can remember a time when dressing up was such a diffcult task.

Oh decisions, decisions, decisions!

I used to think that dressing up is fun and you can do it anytime anywhere. You are never too upset or too tired to try a new pair of shoes. But now having to reach every morning the other part of the town, where I swear if you`d go 5 m further, you would fall out of the face of the earth, has made me change drastically my morning ritual.

If I used have about 30 minutes in the morning to think of what I will be wearing to work that day, now my brain can only resonate to T-shirts and jeans, and really I am kinda over it. So instead of scrambling in the morning, every Morning, I started putting together some outfits, based on what I have in my closet, and try to stick to those as often as I can. Who know maybe you find a little bit of inspiration.

This week`s topic...how to dress through bipolar weather.

It is no secret I am a big fan of the Jumpsuit. It`s cool it`s versatile it`s easy to put an outfit around it.

When in doubt wear a dress... to paraphrase an old saying.

Pants can never let you down...Well maybe only after you ate a lot and they don`t fit and you start crying.

What are your remedies for the mroning when you don`t feel like dressing up?

Today we love...Baguera

I love discovering new designers, well at least new to me. It is an absolute thrill to see new things and be dazzeled by them.

Start to a Fashionable week!

I think I will keep this column for the rest of the year!

We all need a little bit of something to make us feel glamorous. You don`t need to spend a lot of money, all you need is some inspiration and resourcefulness.

I dare to dream and hope that at one point you will find my regular proposals a source of inspiration which will help you find an answer to the dreadfull questions: What am I wearing today?

Out with the old, in with the new...or something like that

It`s that time of the year when we evaluate ourselves, our lives, our wardrobes, we make resolutions, new pormises, new dreams.

We get a little bit depressed, curse, that we are one year older, and none the wiser, but find comfort in thinking that next year we will be better,  smarter , tougher, a 2.0 version of yourselves.

It`s the perfect time to clean your closet, donate those unworn items, and start some shopping therapy. It`s the best time of year to to check off some items from the must have list, you have been putting together for the past year.

Sales are the perfect excuse to buy that cashmere cardigan that you your heart wouldn`t let you buy it at full price, or some red patent leather shoes that have been glowing in the display window of your favorite shop, or that blue bag and yellow shirt you`ve been dying to have for the past season.

But you still have to keep your cool and don`t let yourself be fooled by the attractive offers. Instead plan ahead. Take a step back and think: " What do I need?", and write it down. Keep an open mind, and start shopping.

I recently moved to a new house, and while packing I realized that I have way too many clothes that I haven`t worn in ages, and probably never will. They looked pretty in my closet, but in the end they were just taking up space. So I decided to leave them at my mom`s place, and start a new wardrobe, more close to my current style.

Here is my top 6 pieces perfect to my wardrobe.

The great LEATHER  SKIRT

I must confess that most of my leather skirts are thrifted. When you find a gorgeous short leather skirt for 0.50p you cannot say No! But you never go wrong with this piece. You can wear it at the office paired with a white shirt, or pink mohair sweater, or in the club with something dazzling.

The Straw Hat or How To Survive The Heat Wave With Style

The straw hat.

I personally disregarded the straw hat for so many years, and just wore it, from time to time at the beach, more to stop my mother`s voice in my head, pleading to stay out of the sun, or I will get sun stroked or even worse wrinkles. . But as I grew older, I started to appreciate it more for its utility and "fabulousity".

Now that an obnoxious  heat wave has struck us, we all try to adapt as fast as we can, and survive this horrible period. You would say since this happens almost every year, we must have learned our lesson and we surely prepare for it. But no, we are still taken by surprise and curse the global warming every time we got the chance. Oh, but enough about this and let's talk hats! Straw hats! Unnecessary to mention how much I love them and how much comfort they bring me during this time. They are incredible versatile, and y`all know how much I love those items that can go with virtually anything and are ready to get you out of the hole, whenever the situation requires.

Below I created some inspirational outfits just to demonstrate how wonderful they look no matter the time or place.

Random Inspiration

Monday was my first day at my new job, and unfortunately I was way too tired to write something new for my blog. But I promise this weekend I will catch up!

Starting this new job reminded me how much fun dressing for your workplace can be, especially when you work in a creative environment. I can't tell how cute and well dressed some of my colleagues are!

Here are some of what I think of wearing `til the end of the week.  I don`t have the exact items in my closet, but I was really careful to select something that looks really similar to what  I actually own in my closet.

This is going to be a short short post, but I hope you`ll enjoy it!
